Oh man, becareful removing those side moldings. It's easier just to tape them off and paint them on the car. The clips are a bitch to get to and taking them off without breaking them is a bitch too.

Yeah most side moldings are not reuseable after you take them off, be careful! :D

is there any negatives to painting them while they are on there?

I had mine painted on. We masked off all around them so we could sand them down. The guy whos painting them should know enough to take it easy and spray light so that you don't get any runs behind the molding so that it would drip down. I took my moldings off the second time though... they were a bitch, but got them all back on no prob except one small piece in front of driver side door on the 5th gens. Bought a new piece at the dealer, cost me 18.00 I think. So, I say do it up... that's a good deal. :driving:

bah

Yeah, I've taken off my molding more than 3 times and i've never broken it, even if I did it's worth the risk (15$ or so for a new peice) to have the paint done right.

although mines not painted yet, whats a good color? I was thinking Greyish black, or just straight Black, the problem is I want paint that will last, White paint lasts real long I hear but who wants a plane jane white car? although some white ones doo look awesome.
