Default Everyone post ideas for NEW del Sol!!!

First off, do you think the name should be the same or should Honda change it. If they should change it tell us why (or why not) and give some opinions on some good names.

I'm sure everyone likes the general look of the sol, but it's not quite up to date. Give some ideas on what should be changed and what should be left as is.

As far as options go, what do you think should be offered or even standard? Should they do the three different models like they've done in the past or should they do like the S2k and give it everything.

Front wheel drive or rear wheel drive? Front engine or mid engine? Keep the 2 seater or make it a 2+2, or 2+1. 5 speed, 6 speed, or have an optional engine that's standard 6. Anyone want a 5spd sportshift auto?

Pricing:
Should they do like before and offer them between 17-19k or do you think people will buy them at a higher price.

Here's my thoughts;

3 models, EXCEPT the base come loaded and the top is stripped. And all models will have a super stiff chassis, unlike before. Ditch the 7th generation Civic platform and make one that's wider, lower and have double wishbone suspension at all four corners.

Base (no name yet) will have power windows just like before, but also include power door locks, trunk release, lots of sound deadening, gas light, and ABS (which means 4W disc brakes). The electric roof should be standard. It'll come with a 1.6 litre 160hp engine with an auto or a 5 speed. Wheels will be 15" with whatever size tires.

Next one up should have everything included above, but have a 1.8 litre 180hp engine with a 5spd sport shift or a 6 spd manual. 17'' wheels. Aluminum dash pieces.

Top of the line should have a 2.0 litre 200 hp with 6spd. NO sound deadening and other things (ideas?) to keep the weight down. Also will not have the power roof, but a light weight alluminum one instead. lightweight 16'' or 17'' wheels. Big brakes, which probably means 17's. Lots of extra chassis braces everywhere. Sport seats. Dual exhaust?

The two upper models should come standard with a lip spoiler, and painted side skirts with the top model having a more aggresive look.

If I've left anything out let me know. Also If my expectations are too high for a 18k+ car let me know.

Give opinions and your wishlist.

rsx type s engine if you want to keep it up to date, 16" inch alloys, agreed make the chasis stiffer this time around, electric roof would be nice with some changes to the transtop those mess up easily from what i hear, car should definitely be lower and not sit up like a 4x4. the mid engine idea would be pretty cool kinda like an mr2 or porsche 914.

The RSX engine would require using that platform and IMO that's won't be good for a del sol. It's too high and wedge shaped and I like having double wishbone suspension all around. If I'm not mistaken the Engine and front suspension were designed around eachother, so they go hand in hand. Meaning, I don't think you can use the RSX engine and have a sleek low car like a del sol should be.

A honda branded RSX with a targa would look weird. It would just be an RSX with a targa, not a CRX.
