H22a into 98 civic ex
Would a H22a prelude engine be better to switch into my 98 ex? I found a complete swap for 2199 which is better compared to a B18c1 for 3500 complete. I am only going to do simple boltons and no forced induction. Would it be harder to swap this 2.2 into it than a 1.8 B18c? Any help would be great , Thank You:)

Well you will need to add $500 - $600 for motor mounts...
Are you going to install it or a shop?? If you're going to have a shop install it thats more money. The bad things about h22,h23's is you have alot of over steer and around 120 more lbs in the front of you're car. Bolt on's are more expensive for them then b-series engines. The good thing is horepower ;) I have seen people put them in and there is some cutting and maybe some pounding of the firewall involved to make it fit. I think a b-series engine would make you alot happier and you would not have to do so much stuff to make it work. |
I'M HELPING TO INSTALL AN H22A INTO AN ACCORD RIGHT NOW. IF I WAS YOU, I WOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER THE B18. THERE'S A LOT MORE THAT YOU HAVE TO REPLACE AND ADD ON IF YOU GO WITH AN H22. ECSPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE AN OBD1 ENGINE AND YOUR CAR IS OBD2. I HELPED A FRIEND DO A B18 AND IT WAS A LOT EASIER THAN THE H22. GOOD LUCK.
