fields SFC+DM 450's for turbo?
I know most you turbo honda guys use the vafc hack with dsm 450s instead of the fmu method. I want to do something similar because running 10psi on a 12:1 fmu and stock injectors doesn't sound very appealing to me so i want to ditch my current setup.
My question is...my fields sfc can only cut down -30% so do you think the dsm 450s cut back with the sfc will be too much fuel? If i recall correctly a VAFC can cut back by as much as 45% or 50% duty cycle. I don't want to spend 300 bucks to get a new VAFC when i have my fields SFC already. If you do the math 450's cut back 40% would be like using 270's at full duty cycle, and cutting back 30% would be 315 (close to rc 310s) Another option would be like some 290's or 310s but use a smaller fmu such as 6:1 or 8:1 any input is appreciated greatly |
I'd use the 6:1 or 4:1 with 450's or else you'll bog and maybe die. Then use your sfc to tune that.

I think you'd be alright maybe just have a sluggish idle at times.

The only problem I forsee is that it's not cutting out enough for you not to throw a CEL. I never had mine set less than -35% and I still threw that damn CEL 45 (runs too rich).
I had idle at about -25%. I played with my settings all the time with my butt-dyno. :D |
