Default Warped rotors...

My rotors are warped so I'm guessing im going to need new ones...but I'm having trouble deciding which ones to get. I've been looking at the Brembo cross-drilled ones but will they make a difference on stock brake pads? I dont wanna spend 140 dollars for just looks if it wont make a difference on stock pads..also, if they wont make as much of a difference are the Brembo blanks just the regular stock kinds?

15sCivicRedline,
Firstoff, unless you autocross, my guess is that that the stock rotors should be fine. Around 1990, I put the Jackson Racing cross drilled rotors on my CRX. Personally, I think it was a waste of money. I don't drive the thing hard enough and I think the stock vented disks would be fine.
Now, if you do drive hard, autocross, whatever, then yeah, it might make more sense for you to have more heat dissipation up there.
If memory serves, when I got the JR disks, they insisted on my using their metal pads...ok, that's fine. I'd say if you're going to spend the money on the disks, get a good set of pads as well.
In your case, with the warped rotors, you'll see an inprovement whatever disk you put on there.
One other thing to think about. If you get a set of "lifetime" disks, you can always bring them back for another set. Not sure if Brembo has a similar guarantee.
I don't know about the Brembo "blanks", but if they are just a regular vented disk, you're prolly better off with an OEM or lifetime disk for the price difference.

I've heard that the Brembo blanks are really nice. I have Brembo x-drilled/slotted replacements on my car with Nissin pads and they helped a lot over stock rotors. I got them off of GBC for like $65 for both. You may want to check out there.

Also, does it make much of a difference if I get brembo blanks that were cross-drilled and slotted by a different company? Will it damage or is it the same thing?

Don't know. I hear that the blanks are better than the x-drilled or slotted ones though. I think SiRacer is the one that said that.. :dunno:

brembo rotors come blank from the factory,..then another company cross drills and slots the blanks from brembo,..just get brembo blanks with some decent pads and you will be happy...trust me

thats an on going arguement,...from the brake experts i talked to they had me convinced to always buy blanks,..just for the fact that cross drilled or slotted rotors warp easier then blanks because of less mass,...but if i could come across a complete wilwood kit for cheap im all over it

Really? That sounds weird cause yes theres a little less mass, but a lot more heat dissipation. There almost wouldn't be a chance of them building enough heat to warp.
