Default Messed Up Pistons

I am working on a Mini Me conversion and I removed the pistons out of my engine and used some heavy duty degreaser to remove the carbon buildup on the face of the piston.

After maybe an hour of sitting in the degreaser, I removed them and to both my shock and horror :jawdrop: not only did the carbon disappeared, but also the chroming on the pistons was washed off as well, I don't know how could've happened.

:wtc: WHAT HAVE I DONE??? :wtc:

I do have the pistons from my original engine that I can use, just have to swap pistons with the one I messed up; has this happened to anyone else? I need some help fast, I just don't figured how it could've happened

Please reply with your story and see how you got out of it.

Take some fine grit sandpaper to them, then put them in your engine.
