Default grind on 1st gear

hi, i have a 98 civic ex coupe, today i was driving, and it was slowing very badly too. I was going kinda slow, and when i was about to stop, which the car is still have a little movement, so i put it in 1st gear, and it grinded. This happened couple times this month already, does anyone know why does it do that?

thx

I've had same problem. I also grind whenever I put it in reverse, after letting the clutch out and pushing it back in.

you shouldn't be putting it into 1st if you're over 15mph anyway, good way to **** up your tranny. And with reverse, that's normal, reverse has no synchro.
