speedometer stuck
hi folks;
i have a 2000 acura el and my problem is my speedometer sometimes stuck at 30km/hr, but sometime it backs to normal speed.
i can tell if it is not working when i turn on the ignition (not start) , the needle is already at 30km/hr, sometimes it comes back to normal when i bang the dash but sometimes not.
please help;
apprciate it.

Replace your cluster and that should fix your problem. If that doesn't then its a sensor somewhere. I think there may be a way to fix the speedo without replacing the whole thing. I believe its a chip in the back but I can't remember. Search the forums and see if you can find other posts with similar problems.
Have you changed the gauge faces with aftermarket ones? Like different color faces? Have you removed the gauges for any reason?

I've also got an EL, and I had the same issue. If the problem is with the VSS sensor, you will throw a CEL, otherwise the problem is with the speedo head in the guage. My issue was the speedo head in the guage. You can replace your entire cluster, or just the speedo gauge in your current cluster if that's the case.
