Need help installing springs!!!!!
I got a 99 civic, and bought some Comptech sport springs. I am going to do the install myself, but I have a few questions. First, in the front, all i do is loosen the top 3 strut bolts under the hood, and undo a couple bolts at the bottom of the strut, and it pops out. Then I use the compressor, put the new spring on, and reverse the process. My Main question is about the rear. How do I get to the top strut bolts in the rear? They are covered by the trunk lining it seems. What bolts must be taken off in the rear? If anyone has a writeup, or pictures.....it would help me greatly. This is my first time doing any major work on my car, so any and all advice would be VERY helpful!:)

you are going to have to remove those panels. the buttons can be found on the sides of them. just feel around the panel and you will see.

look for some buttons near the border of the trunk to the left and right. the buttons look like a circle with a smaller circle cut into them. they hold the carpet in place. push the smaller circle in and the button should pop right out. peel back the trunk liner and look where the suspension would be. you should see the top of the unit and the bolts u need to take off. gl:)

i know on the 00 civic EX when you take the bolt out of the lower stabelizer bar all you have to do is take the cover off of where the strut is in the rear, and take off 2 nuts, and the strut/spring will come out. Its very easy to do and you dont need to pull up the carpet or take off any panels to get to the two nuts. You may need a closed end wrench.

i have just one tip, be sure that when you install the new springs, when you go to tighten the nut on the top of the strut that hols the upper srtut bushing in place that you use a torque wrench, go rent one if you don't have one
