Default valve lash adjustment tips

Im going to attempt this on a 95 civic, which sounds very chattery, any tips

not really, it's pretty straight forward. just adjust the lash until the low size feeler gauge drags and the high size doesn't go(without forcing it). make sure you check after you tighten the lock nut.

this is a very important step. most people never double check after the lock nut has been tightened and in most cases, they have tweeked the lash during the tightening sequence. so make sure you check it after torqueing.

Just throwing this out there, but I found my engine isn't nearly as chattery now that I set the timing correctly. It had been about 1mm away from being set at max. retard the entire time I've had the car, apparently whoever replaced the dizzy didn't bother to set it... or they confused the white mark with the red one.

Not saying you should'nt set the valve lash, but some find that doing that doesn't change the sound much.

i always recommend that you take it to a pro for a valve adjustment. ive heard of many people running into problems when diy
