Default JVC kd-s14 not workin in 95 honda civic ex

So I have a 1995 honda civic ex. Heres the deal. I bought a new headset. A jvc kd-s14. it works but it doesnt work. so.. heres whats up.. I only have tweeters in the front. not front speakers.. i have rear aftermarket speakers. So I wired up the new cd player and harness for just power and rear speakers.. No since in having power going to the front when there is no front.so it always turns on, but it gives no sound.and sometimes it will give sound. and ever before I wired it that way i wired all the wires together the ones i need for just speakers, no subs or amp..and even then it was doing it..I have been installing aftermarket stereos for a couple years now in my relatives car, friends and my own.Ive had 4 vehicles in the past 2 years cause i get one car and I see another car that i want so i sell my one car to get another... and in each one i installed aftermarket stereos and subs and amp.. im stumped on this one tho.. ive come to the conclusion that its the wiring in the car itself.. if anyone has any advice please let me know .. thank a bunch.

Maybe you're grounding out somewhere. When my speaker wires short out, i lose all my sound but the headunit still looks powered up and normal. Basicly it shuts down so you dont blow out the head units amp i believe (i use a kenwood).

check to make sure your unused front side isnt touching anything it shouldnt and check your back wiring as well.

???

i'd also check the fuses under the dash on the left of the steering wheel. i just installed a Kenwood into my 94 Civic but i have front speakers. I'm sure about the tweaters tho. they should be wired just like the front speakers but i'm not entirely sure. i'll ask a friend of mine who does installs for Circut City and see what's up wit it

thats the first thing i did when i hooked it up. i put electrical tape around the the unused wired then a wire covering. i do that to all off them and make sure no wire is showing. then i i just zip tie them together to keep wires from being everywhere..im thinkin im gonna need to rewire my car for sounds.
