lower ball joint
yeah, a big hammer works well. when you put int the new one, take off the boot first, put the ball joint in with a lil more finesse then pack the boot with more grease and reinstall it. they only run about 30 bux a piece for lifetime warranty ones at local parts stores.
I took the machine shop route....and decided to go w/ new upper control arms/balljoint assy's, as well. 96K mi. on the originals is long enough, w/ some washboard dirt roads in the last 10K. They're due.
good for you man. In any case to get the ball joints out there is a tool for that ...
