queston about b16a2's

i'm looking to get a b16a2 for my 98 hatch, i have a few questions about it, please help me out. thanks

is the tranny and catalytic converter included in the swap?

once i have the motor installed, do i let the insurance company know?

whats te average price for a full b16 swap?

tranny yes if its a full swap, cat, illegal for anyone to sell u a use cat(in cali it is) besides, they're cheap and u can probably reuse ur old one or get a aftermarket one.

its up to u to let the insurance know or not, so if the unthinkable happens, u be cover, rates might go up, dunno, i never told my insurance co.

average price for b16a2 full swap(w/out install) goes for 2500-2800 give or take.

when you go buy the engine... they'll state whether it is a longblock or shortblock.

longblocks usually do not come with tranny, ecu, distributor and shift linkages.

www.hondamotorsonline.com is a pretty decent place to begin your research

thats how they usually sell their motors nowadays....they'll let you know if it is a complete changeover...or if it is just a longblock.

longblock packages only include the motor itself. no distributor, intake/exaust manifold, ecu, shift linkage, or tranny.

complete changeovers will include everything you need for the swap.

it took me and my cuzin and two of our friends 8 hours removal and install of a b16 into a 97 civic, while convertin from auto to manual.
