Default Rear Disc Conversion

Well i just ordered my rear disc conversion that came with the E-brake cable. I am wanting to know which master cylinder and brake booster i should get...Should i just get the ones for a 93-95 SI hatchback?

That'll work just fine. You shouldn't need the booster though, just the MC. You can actually leave your stock one on there if you want, but most people prefer the firmer pedal feel of the larger MC. Also be sure to find a rear-disc proportioning valve (stamped 4040) to make sure those rears are getting enough juice.

actually less juice h: the drum brake system runs a high pressure rear to accomodate for the distance teh wheel cylinder has to push the shoes against the drum. Most people find that without changing to a 4040 prop that the rear calipers tend to bind or stick because they are rated for a lower amount of force over the area of the piston h:

Actually i already have the 4040 valve. Just got it the other day. So if i just get the MC from a 93-95 SI i should be good to go? Aside from getting new pads, rotors, etc of course.

Hm..i have been looking on a few sites that sell master cylinders and the 95 EX and 95 SI seem to use the same master cylinder...So do i not need to upgrade mine??

I wouldn't bother myself, but that's just how I am.

If you're unhappy in any way w/ the current MC, or think it might be showing signs of age and have future problems, than now would be the time to change it. They're very similar cars, even by 5th gen civic standards, so I don't see why the MC would differ, but at the same time I don't see why the Si would come with drums in back either so... I know why they did it, but I guess I don't approve.

edit: :goodjob: on the change btw, the convenience alone when changing pads/shoes is well worth the trouble IMO, especially if you get a good deal on the new calipers, rotors, etc.

Alright thanks A-series...Ill try to run the MC i have now and like you said if the brakes feel different in any way, other than swapping to discs ill change it.

Some of the EX master cylinders are 7/8 and some are 15/16.
I used a 15/16 on my 88 CRX w/integra setup, front and rear.
Works pretty good.
You might want to use 7/8" with stock front brakes.
