help!!!! car won't start (fuel pump or fuel injector?)

i was stuck in a pot hole then engine just died. when i started cranking the fuel gauge needle is moving towards E (empty) and beyond. even though there is still plenty of fuel in the tank.

Do you hear the fuel pump turning on, their is a 2 second turn on before start up.
