Need 2nd Car-maybe 96-00 Civic?
Made some changes over the past few years... now more SI, and have a nice '07 Civic LX for the family this summer.
Now, thinking about getting just a daily driver/ beater type for myself. Has to be durable, reliable, easy to work on, plentiful and inexpensive parts available, and especially, Cheap. That's why now leaning towards a DX/LX line Civic for maybe '96-00 model years for best value & price. Any suggestions? And how is it like working on one of these for this model lineup? |
its like working on any other 92-01 civic...easy as cake...parts are cheap...reliable etc.

I might be an old fart on here at 37, but my 95 Sol costs me about $160 a year for liability only with Allstate. I also have my 97 Jeep with them at about the same cost. Having two houses with Allstate helps too. Even before I owned the Jeep and two houses, though, I was paying about $400 a year for the Sol with Progressive (liability only). I bought the car used and paid with a credit card (it was an emergency situation), which is why I've only ever had liability. This is in NC. It depends upon what state you live in.
