quick question about window tinting.....
I just called the local DMV here to find out about the laws for window tinting and they said that the tint must be 35% reflective and it has to allow more that 24% light transmittance. The dude on the phone was somewhat of a d*ck and didn't really clarify it for me. So does this mean that i need to have a tint that is 24% or do i need to have one that is 35%? Sorry if this sounds stupid but i am seriously confused.
I talked to the local tint place, and they said that i should go with 32% in the front and 20 in the back. |

anyways...I live in NJ...the strictest state about window tinting...and the rules are NO tint at all in the front right or left side of the driver windows...NO tint on the windshield...whatever you want(45%,35%,20%10%,5%) to the rear windows... furthermore in NJ if you tint the two front windows any darker than 35% you are for sure to get a ticket at some point in time...cops are just not the nicest here!! :D :D |
sorry about that. I'm from WA

Remember this.........
OEM window tint + Add on Film tint = Total tint If the law is 24%, that is a total of 24%. So if you put a 24% film tint on your window and the Police pull you over, use a meter, you are over the limit. Mr. K p.s. Have a reputable shop do the tinting. Nothing worse then a window full of bubbles. |

im pretty sure the cops in WA are not as strict like here in NJ... You can tint the windows however you want...all you have to remember is that if you tint front driver side windows or the windshield most likely you are going to fail inspection when you take your car to motor vehicles!! :D |
