HID's On Projectors?

i have a 96 Civic with projectors and i was wondering if u can install HID's on these headlights because i've heard that u cant and that u can. I know that stock headlights for the civics are H4's and my projectors use H1's. does anybody know?

If your projectors use H1 then you might be able to use H1 HIDs right?

Retro-fit real HID projectors in them.
