hey, that just means he's one step away from getting a 5-speed

nah, serious. If you have an auto (such as myself), kiss your racing dreams goodby untill you have enough to swap your tranny, or possibly engine at the same time.

This is the thing about LX's. The performace aftermarket is really slim for it. You can get an intake and exhaust, but thats pretty much it. You have to convert the EX aftermarket headers to fit, due to the placement of the Catalitic converter. Stock horsepower is wimpy from the start (106 ) and theres no vtec.

I'd suggest getting an intake, exaust, and start working on your suspension (rims, springs, etc). Then save your pennys for a b16 or b18, if racing is the way you want to go.

well, you could swap an EX engine in, and throw some boost onto that. People on the site with boosted d16's can run 13's easy.

Get the tranny swap.
Get a D16y8 intake manifold.
Get a Greddy TD05-15g kit.

The new autos tend to be kinda strong. There was a kid at the track with an auto civic ex, with 138,000 miles he has been spraying a 75 shot since 70,000 miles, its still in very good shape (engine trans) maybe he just had a factory freak.
