Won't restart after stopping for a short time

:?: My wife's Del Sol Sir has got an annoying problem some times after she stops to get fuel, she then tries to restart the car it turns over fires up then stalls then when she tries to restart it just turns over and does not fire up. If she leaves it for a while it starts fine. Also today she said that on the way home from work the car would not start from cold, she left it again for an hour and it started fine this is the first time this has happened so might be a one off. I have recently done some work on the car changed the plugs, air filter, fuel filter, and also had to replace the dizzy due to the car dying on her. This problem has been there before doing this work and after Please help with any ideas spent a lot and it's my wife’s pride and joy cheers

I'd put money on your main relay. Classic symptoms.

ditto,Can you hear your fuel pump(it has a 2 second start up when you just turn you key to on not start it is used to build fuel psi before start up)So next time it happens turn you key to on and listen for the fuel pump. Some times an igniter can do that to.To test this see if you have spark when this happens.

Oh yeeeaaahhhh... seriously, I'd be surprised if it wasn't the main relay.
I believe it's under the dash by the fuses left of steering wheel.

cheers everyone It was that fuel relay. I took it out and could see two dry joints where the solder had cracks in it. Resolder it now runs a treat.
Thanks. :)
