Springs & Shocks
What do you think I should get as far as springs and shocks go?? I would like to lower it, but I don't know how much. I'd like it to sit low enough to where I could still put a body kit on and not worry about scraping over RR tracks and so on. Also would want somewhat of a smooth ride not to worried about that though.

What kind of engine should I swap with?? (I was choosing between H22 and B16)
Also what's the difference between H22a 92-95 & H22a 97+ and the difference between B16A G2 92-95 & B16A 96+ Should the B18c be included in my decision also?? |
as far as springs/shocks.....
go with a coilover setup like ground control or skunk 2 paired with AGX or tokicos. u can adjust the height to ur preference. what kinda car do u have? that will have a major decision on what type of motor u may swap in to avoid OBD conversions |
u need to search man. cant ask 20 q's in one thread when each of them could be answered via search button. but, i like my tokico illuminas with tokico springs. ill be upgrading though possibly this winter to a full customized coilover setup with custom spring rates, it really depends on what ur doing with the car, im take my car to the local road course as often as possible and i need something that will suit my driving a little better

On engine I don't care (I'll save up as much as I need, I'm not going to do something I'll regret in the future on something that big) but I was just wondering why everyone is getting a B16 instead of a H22?? I was thinking about $3000-$5000?? |
um..ur not gonna get anything decent for $300-$500 on a spring shock combo dude.
a b16a2 would be a easy swap. did the same to my ex. you wouldnt be disappointed with a $5000 budget to piece together a b16 and turbo kit |

im gonna go with Bilstein Shocks and either Tien springs or Eibach springs w/ approximately 2" drop

Would those be considered higher end?? And 2.0-2.25" drop is pretty good isn't it?? What did you put on your EX?? Do you have a pic??
those illuminas will be fine. or u can try kyb agx. i think they maybe a little but cheaper. i got omnipower street coilovers. they kinda stiff though for daily driving... make sure u get a camber kit if ur dropping 2.0-2.25" dude |
Have you ever heard of ZENN Lowering Springs??
ZENN Lowering Springs If I got these Ground Control Springs would I need shocks also?? What would be a good set of shocks to go with these?? |

Would the Ground Controls and the Illuminas be a good combo??
|
Im running tokico blues with ground control coilovers on my 93. I couldn't be happier with them and for the price they were a great deal (paid $200, slightly used :oh:)
|
GC + Koni yellow > GC + illuminas > poop > GC's with blues.
|
How bout we jsut say forget it and go get some JIC FLT-2's!?
I mean that would get a pretty good ride right? LOL HA |

are they that bad? I've been looking into the omni's and the tien basics, and have been leaning more twords the omni's.
how bad is it? the only thing i can compare them to is my previous setup on skunk ones and agx. they felt softer on the bumps even on the stiffest setting the omni's really shine though when u corner. they hold there own |
i've been wondering about shocks and springs myself i have a 93 eg6 and i do alot of highway/freeway driving and right now my car is bouncy i want something that will give me a good smooth ride i travel alot so i need something that will last and isnt that pricy. i was thinking of getting tein maybe spoon. my car is droped already and my springs are about a year old should i change the spings if i get new coilovers? how good are h&r loweing springs?
anybody have any reviews on spoon coilovers? |
GC/Koni is a really good bang for the buck set up. If you aren't doing serious racing, since this is a street car, it should be all you'll need.

I use H&R Sports w/ Tokico illuminas. It rides really nice in my opinion for daily driving.
