AEM Bypass Valve
Is this AEM bypass valve really worth it? I don't care about losing the 1hp by installing it, I just don't really want to pay $50 for something that I won't need.
I live in MI, with snow and rain. Some people have tried telling me that snow can be bad with your CAI, this doesn't really seem right to me...does anyone know? I already drive careful and obviously avoid puddles and what not, but shit happens. Also, it seems like this thing would only work if the filter is completely submerged because otherwise their wouldn't be a vacuum to shut the valve.... Due to that, I would have to drive in a 1-2 foot puddle to make this thing useful. Any thoughts? |
Just buy it.

I hydrolocked my first motor because of my CAI. Buy it.

joo live in K-zoo huh.....I have one in my garage from back when I had my b16a swapped civic. I am in East Lansing, and hit up Wastern quite often. I would sell you mine for like 20 bucks some time if you want.

That would be sweet. I live about a mile off of campus. Anything else you want to get rid of that may be of interest?

Meh, I don't really see a use in them. My friend hydro locked his motor in his Jetta, but even if u go thru a puddle, just make sure that you are not at WOT and it is closed, and u can be EXTRA safe and just turn off ur car and glide thru the puddle and then flick it back on after u get outa it.
I have never hydrolocked a motor, but if u feel like u need it, get it. Or meh just turbo the car and forget the CAI, LOL. |
Yeah, new motor first before I turbo though. I'm thinking a nice D13A, what do you guys think :)
