Default 95si tranny fits 98ex motor, axle and starter?

Does 95 SI (D16Z) 5sp tranny fit 98 EX (D16Y8)? Can I apply my current axle and starter to D16Z tranny? I'm going to swap my auto to manual and hope I can use my friend's D16Z SI tranny. Thanks.

Everything fits except the throwout bearing was different when we did it. We made it fit though.

It goes inside the tranny on the shift fork. Just order the throw out bearing for that tranny.

while on the subject, is it possible to replace a b16a clutch with a b16a2 clutch and tranny? I'm thinking if I replace the complete clutch assembly and flywheel, the hydro clutch will work on my 97 ex. Any thoughts would be helpful.

P.S. If anyone is selling a b series hydro tranny, I am very interested. thanks

If the flywheel bolts up to the crank, then you can do it. Not sure if it would be the same flywheel, bue like I said, swap out the flywheel and you should have no problems (if it's possible). And the hydraulic lines that are on the ex might need to be bent to work. Not a problem with a pipe bender.

You aren't talking about putting a B16 tranny on your ex are you? If you are, the answer is no.

I was assuming it was an EX with a swap...
