I want to get a jdm eg cluster and I was wondering if I could convert it from kmh to mph... Would it work to swap out the kmh gauge with my usdm mph gauge?

 

what's the point of that? you'd have a speedo that doesnt match the rest of the cluster.

 

LOL that is the funniest thing I have read this week.!!! Not to make fun but you want a JDM gauge cluster but you want MPH? Umm why? Doesn't your USDM gauges have MPH? Doi!

That would be like buying an Mitsubishi Evo and then converting it to a Civic hatchback. Getting all the body parts, suspension pieces, seats, interior, engine..... And swapping the Evo stuff out for the Civic parts til you get a Civic.

 

unless he has a non-SiR cluster which is the black face/white needle like ours.

 

u could also carry a piece of paper in the car wit the conversion numbers, i seen some ppl do it. i have a apexi 1st gen rev speed meter in mph, so that helps me out with the conversion.

 

I did that for the longest time, now i know them i dont need them. But to answer the question it would be easier and cheaper just to put amber bulbs in ur cluster.

 

WOW, you guys misunderstood. I have a cluster w/o tach. So If i get a cluster I thought might as well get the jdm one (black gauges) because it has tach and it looks nicer than the usdm ones... And they are about the same price. But i'm not really feeling the kmh thats why I asked.

 

umm the black face sir cluster still reads in kph. ur better off saving money gettin a usdm si/ex cluster and switchin the bulbs out for amber ones to get the amber lighting effect.

 

When I bought my car, someone put the white overlay's on the cluster. I finally took my cluster apart one day and found out. I took off all the overlays, and changed the bulbs and that was that.

If you want the white overlays, they are in MPH, you can have them.
They look just like the SiR one, jsut in MPH.
