small coolant hose disconected... proglems ensued FTL
so i stoped off at my house, droped something off, got back in and started dirving... didnt get 10 feet before the engine started sputtering and i saw smoke coming out of the hood so i pulled over and killed it.......
i open the hood...... anti freeze EVERYWHERE... and the small coolant hose that goes from the engine to the intake manifold got disconected..... and that was a bitch to reconect, very tight fit.....
so i fix it.... wipe up as much anti freeze as i can.... and start driving again...... seems fine..... doesnt sputter or anything......
i look down at my temp gauge, and ITS AT THE TOP
so i IMMEDIATLY turn off the car and coast into a parking lot..... everything seems fine, and the a little bit of usual smoke thats to be expected from getting liquid on hot things is still comin off.. but everything seems fine.....
i run the car with full heat blasting and the temp bar stays in the middle.... but then as soon as i think its safe to drive, the thing goes up to high again....
HOPEFULLY.... its just that the temp senser got spashed and is getting different readings or something..... anythhoughts?

once again... your right... i looked at it after it cooled and it was low....
but now im having a rough idle problem... where it drops to almost 500 rpm
you are low on coolant, you have air in the system, and possibly one of your lines has a leak.

I'd put my money on not enough coolant in the system. The same thing happend to me when my FITV hose leaked just the slightest bit.
