Default Main Relay Experts HELP!!!

Ok, my 92 EG has had the typical main relay problem in the past and I solved it in the usual manner by resoldering.
Well the other night it pulled a typical "main relay problem" turn the ignition and no "click" and no hummm from the fuel pump. Car cranks fine. OK resolder again and still nothing. Jump terminal 1 and 7 and the pump primes so that's not the problem. Thinking it's still the main relay I verify if it's good in a friends car and sure enough it is.
Now my question...what would cause this problem if the Main relay is good and fuel pump is good.

Swap your friends distributor into your car and try it.

Yeah I was getting frustrated with my main relay during this past summer (and only had the car for 2 months). Finally gave in and got a new one and just heard about soldering it. So now I have a back up just in case.

Is the hummm sound when you turn the key to on suppose to be very loud? Mine is loud occasionally but at times it sounds like it does not prime(but there is click from the relay). Could the alarm module be faulty since there is some wiring to the fuel pump via it?
