Okay. First off, thanks if you take the time to read this thread, I appreciate any responses. I own a 96 Honda Civic Ex and I'm interested in changing up my car, but in a diferent way. I'd love to know what can be done to make my "Vic" more efficient(y'know, better gas mileage, a cooler engine, daily driver kinda stuff) I was told that a cold air intake would help me a bit, making the engine cooler. I'm not super knowledgable about engine modifications which is, hey, why I'm here. Basically, are there any 96 civic ex mods that will help out a daily driver. Any help is apreciated, so please don't ignore me!!:rolleyes:

lighter rims, better brakes / suspension work wont hurt but it wont really help daily driving.. CAI will help a little..

Watch out for water with the cai.

what exactly did u want to do to ur daily driver?
i guess u can start with ur basic ins and out (intake, header, and exhaust).
is it auto or manual?

Tune up first off. I know when I had my 96 Civic ex I put a bodykit on mine and the weight reduction helped on mpg. Fiberglass hood and spoon ... well Rota rims. Not really an easy way to get better mpg but hey it works.:rolleyes:

i agree with the tune up but are u f-ing serious about weight reduction and better MPG :confused:

Upgrade ur electrical fan for a cooler engine along with a cai (aem v2 works great)

:chuckles: well your at it pick up some z3 fenders!!! those vents will cool your brakes and add 50 hp!!!!:rolleyes:

Youd have to make a drastic reduction in weight to notice any real gains in fuel millage. The most effective thing you can do get good gas millage is not to drive like an ass, youll be surprised how much that helps. Other then that makeing sure you car is mechanicly sound and all the STOCK parts are working like they should your good to go. I woudlnt get into to intensly modifieng your car if the goal is to keep it a good daily driver, so just keep that in mind.

Wow, didn't expect this many replies,thanks a bunch to all. Oh,forgot to mention my vic is automatic:/ Thanks for the warning B20hatchy, I've heard that water can damage the CAI. Anything i can do to protect it,maybe take it out in the rain or sumthin?

water doesnt damage the coldair intake, the cold air intake sucks up water and hydrolocks the motor
