Ok well i got 2 ecus. One being auto p28 and a 5spd p28. My car is automatic but i got the 5spd ecu for my swap.. If i were to sell my auto ecu and put in my 5spd one in my automatic - how bad will it affect my car or will it at all? thanks.

What model, year of car? What swap? Are you converting to manual? Is the swap manual or auto? My Guess is that you have a automatic 92-95 civic ex vtec with p28. But more info would help.

I just want know if i put the manual ecu in my automatic car, will the car still run like normal? and yes its a 95 civic ex

yeah it throws a check engine light which will disengage vtec so hopefully that answers ur question but look up on the internet how to convert the auto p28 to manual did it to mine and it ran beautifully so u can sell the virgin manaul p28 and convert the auto p28 to manual

sorry wrong info i misunderstood the question i thought u had a 5spd transmission you were going to put in the car not a 5spd ecu

Just thought i'd ask and see if i could put the 5spd one in and just run on that and sell my automatic one to get some extra cash

wouldnt it make sense though, a p28 auto and p28 manual....why would they make em diff if they could work on either tranny?

one tells the tranny when to shift (conservitivly) (automatic)
one leaves it up to the driver to shift

it's basicly one wire inside the ecu that you can modify to convert them from auto to manual. but they are different!


he would be selling the auto, we are converting his car from automatic to 5spd in the next month or so, he's rounding up the final peices on his list that i gave him.
