Dx Tranny VS. EX Tranny
Just wondering how big of a difference there is between these two trannies...? Also if anyone happen to have a EX tranny in Ohio. Holla @ me, stiffdogg06 or PM me. But I just want to know what the big difference between these two are... Also which would u best for turbo app? thx.
The DX tranny has long gears, good for gas millage and acheiving the highest possible top speed, not great if you want something sporty, and not to great for a turbo aplication. The ex has shorter gears, allowing for faster acceleration but a lower top speed. shorter gears, imo are better for turbos, i know this point can be argued but thats my opinion. Id go with the EX, your never gonna max out your car enough the enjoy the DX tranny, so get the ex, with a nice lightend flywheel and enjoy the nice revvy you motor youve just aquired

close geared ratios are best for accleration assuming you arent spinning.
i dont know what that last sentence means by "enjoy your new revs with the lightened flywheel"
learn to search....but anyway i came across this for ya. it will tell you your miles per hour in each gear and the gear ratios according to your tire size. this link is comparing a ex trans to that of a dx. http://www.fatboyraceworks.com/gears...raph&Compare=1 of course this is nothing like comparing your your vxs. http://www.fatboyraceworks.com/gears...raph&Compare=1

long gears is a myth. it really depends on how far ou are racing. like for example....if your friend has a short gear ratio...he might have to shift four times...where as with a longer gear ratio...he would have to shift three times for that distance. the three shifts should help out the longer ratio but for accerleration wise the shorter gearing will always win...unless you have so much power that you spin like crazy but i know this isnt the fact since this is a d series car. a short gear ratio car will always win assuming no traction problems. whether it is turbo or not. with the shorter geqars you are more in your power band
