Change front blinker light bulb - Honda Civic 1998

1 Attachment(s)
Can anyone tell me how to access the light bulb for my front left turn signal?

It is burnt out and I need to change it but can't figure out how to get to the old one. Do I have to remove something under the hood? or remove the outside plastic headlight guard?

I've attached a picture.

thanks in advance for any help.

You have to remove the front bumper cover, front grill, pull the whole light assembly out. Or someone said you can pull back the fender liner and do it that way. I have to do the same thing on my EM1.

thanks for the help.

Do you know where I could find step-by-step instructions for getting to the blinker bulb?

You drew on Chris's car. :reechy:

I'd just undo the fender well insert on that side and replace it that way. 4 or so screws as opposed to the entire bumper seems simpler to me. :shhh:

i wouldnt screw with the fender liner because of those cheap ass plastic pop in bolts that keep the fender liner in place. They are 1.80$ each at Honda where Im at. I had to remove just 3 of those damn pop in bolts thats on the fender liner to get to the fender so i can take it off because of the project I was doing. I had to cut them off because since they were old ass hell they just wouldnt come off at all.

Id stick with taking off the bumper to get at the whole assembly

thanks for the insights

If I can't get the fender off easily, I'll look at the bumper. Does someone have some instructions for removing the bumper? I wouldn't know where to start.

thanks

remove the pins on top

1 - 2 screws on inside fender

2 10 mm bolts underneath.

I removed mine literally hundreds of times and never had a problem. :dunno:

Why so much work just to change the bulbs. All you have to do is remove 2 of the pop screws and untwist the bulb socket, remove the bulb, but new one back in and put the pop screws back in.

I used a cordless screwdriver to get the pop screws out. Then you just pull on the base to extract it. Why go through pulling the whole bumper assembly off to just change a bulb?

That would be like changing your table lamp light bulb by driving to California picking up a light bulb there, drive back to PA and then paying someone to changing the light bulb for you.
