did a swap and car won't start
I just swapped a d15vtec into a 93 dx. I used the the same stock harness and didn't hook up the vtec, well not til spring. When I finally cranked it over the engine turned over for a few seconds then saw some sparks flying out by the starter. Then tried starting it again and getting nothing. Is it just the starter? forgot to mention I had the battery hooked up to a charger and in start mode. did it have too much voltage? Need some info please, been dreamin' bout driven her again. Thanks

take your starter off and bring it to get checked. Do you hear a clicking sound when you try to start the car?
|
no, noise at all. all the fuses look good. Don't know what happened.

You check all the grounds? Check the battery voltage

the positive wire from your starter either slipped off the pring or your grounding wire is touching the positive, look at the angle it's connected & make sure the positive isn't grounding against the starter casing. ;)
i doubt you fried the starter, they can take quite a bit of electrical abuse (from past experience) |
I just took my starter to autozone and it passed the test. isnt the starter grounded by being bolted to the tranny?

there is also the little black spade connector. but if the positive cable is grounding out or close to it, it will make a nice light show when you try to start it.
