Should I switch to synthetic?

... after using regular for 46k miles? I never thought about it since I always take my car to Honda dealer for oil change. Has anybody done it? and if so, have you experinced any problems? What type of oil filter does the majority of you use?

Synthetic is what I have used sense i have had my car... works good for me.. Why wouldn't you just change your own oil? It's really easy...

CivicSiRacer 11-14-2005 11:27 AM

Why would you experience any problems using synthetic instead of conventional oil?

I've been using synthetic since my car reached 1000 miles. I use Mobil 1 or Honda filters. I used K&N filter starting in May til now and it was probably a waste of money :)

I heard I may experience leakage once I transit from synth. to ord.

I typically use Honda filters because my friend is the parts manager at Honda. But sometimes I splurge and buy some Mobil 1 filters or Purolator Filters.

I'd use Mobil 1 and K&N Filters. I think VTEC loves the protection synthetic oil offers.

I use purolator filters and mobil 1 synthetic 5w30.
