Default Anyone know what causes this?

I have noticed over the last week, shifting has become difficult. Its not hard to get into gear, so to speak, it just feels stiff. Also, when shifting from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th, even with the clutch in, it sometimes dosnt go into gear all the way. I then have to re-clutch, bring the stick back to neutral (which feels wierd too, kinda like shift pattern is messed up) and then go back into gear. does this sound like a clutch problem or a tranny problem? btw i have a 98 ex 5spd 146xxx miles.

how old is the clutch ? with close to 150K miles, it might be the tranny. check fluids in the tranny first, and if is still doesn't fix the problem, you might want to take it to a tranny shop and have them look at it before it completely dies. it will be cheaper to rebuild with some still in tact then none.

Lots of clutch Master cylinder problems when it gets cold out. Does it shift better as it warms up (just cold oil in tranny)? I doubt the tranny is going that fast but it could be. Listen to CaliDELSOL too.

changed fluid in august so i know thats good, i actually think its my clutch. its pretty worn. I assumed it was only a matter of time but i thought i would get some slipping before shifting problems occured. as long as im careful it seems ok for now but i def need to replace it within the next month.

Well lately I have had a weird feeling when shifting from 2nd to 3rd when I'm in high rpm in 2nd. Could it just be transmission fluid needs to be changed.

I have the ACT HDSS and it is a great clutch. It costs a pretty good amount, so an alternative could be the Exedy stage 1 full surface disk. Maybe you could install a lightweight flywheel while you are at it. :rick:
