Default Pistons

I have a JDM B16 sirII motor and I'm thinking about getting higher compression pistons so that after that I can build my head. But I'm not going to be able to build the head for over some time. Should I wait to do it all at once or put my pistons in and then just have one strong ass block? And what kind of piston does everyone suggest?

I think stock bore higher compression pistons would work. If you went with a higher compression with a bigger bore it'd make sense just to machine and build the head while doing the block.

Wait and do it all at once. The gains from just upping the compression will be minimal without cams and headwork. As for brands, I'm a big Wiseco fan...they make some of the best pistons on the market. You're also going to need rods, by the way.

So while I wait for the time to do the bore and head together, what other things do you think I should work on. I have intake, header, exhaust, msd, fuel regulator and type-r ecu.

You could possibly get a JG or Skunk2 Intake Manifold, with a GSR throttle body (or aftermarket). Since you have a FPR, maybe go ahead and work on your fuel upgrades...such as Walbro Fuel Pump, STR Fuel Rail. Or, you could work on a completely different part of your car, such as your suspension. Its up to you dude, and what you have money for.

Please, dont just go spending your money on useless crap that you will have no use for. Just make sure what you get, ties in with some other mods. For example: Fuel Rail, Injectors, Fuel Pump, and FPR. Focus on one section at a time and do it right.

Why do a lot of people suggest the Skunk2 manifold with gsr throttle body. Is the Gsr throttle body that good? Also when I change my fuel rail do I need to do injectors at the same time?

if u plan on changing the intake manifold, i would go with the edelbrock victor x or something like that. the skunk2 is nic, but it has been proven that the Victor x flows better and creates more power. the stock fuel system is good for i believe around 400hp, dont quote me on that, but if ur going NA, then i wouldnt worry about it. i would maybe step up to a little larger injector like a 370 or so, just so u dont have to worry about over running the stockers.

i agree with the wisecos, comaored to others, probably if not deffinitely the best pistons around, and there here outta ohio, SUCCA
