Hydrolock Question!!!

Hydrolock Question!!!
i have an after market intake that goes through my engine bay and pops out in front of my wheel behind the bumber...i live in the desert...but recently its been raining HARD...i dont have a fender liner that can cover my intake, so hear is my question...exactly how much water is needed for a hydrolock...if im just driving on wet road without puddles will my car get hydrolocked? or how about if im driving on the freeway and my tires are kicking up a lot of water...can i get hydrolocked like that?

Driving without fender liners is just asking for problems.
The filter has to get soaked and submerged in order to get hydrolock in most cases.

do0d...i got my front end repaired after an accident and they never gave me my fender liners back...i tried to report them for it...but they clamied that i never had any...how much can i get a fender liner for?
So if im driving on the freeway and my tired pick up a lot of water the car cant get hydro locked right?

Wow. where did all you people learn to type English? Anything is possible if you are not running fender liners and driving in the rain.

I have an AEM V2 cold air intake on my civic. I have the splashguard underneath it, and I am still careful when I'm driving in the rain. I try not to go through any puddles, the last thing you want is any water getting into the filter. Hitting a puddle every now and then isn't going to cause hydrolock, but it still isn't a good idea hitting them. For some air intakes you can get a bypass valve that if you do hit a puddle it won't go into your filter. The AEM V2 says not to use it, because it actually robs performance. You should be fine as long as you don't submerge the filter.
