Need a USDM b16 engine
I have a 94 del sol with a d16z6 i was going to rebuild the damn thing, but people tell me it would just be cheaper to go with the b16, but I live in california and JDM doesn't go with the Smog laws. So i have been looking for a USdm engine for awhile and I also looked on the forums, but there isn't a path that i can follow. I was wondering if there is a site i can buy it off of, or if I do go with the JDM one what parts do I need to pass the bar/smog. Thanks ahead of time.
go down to your local tuner shop they should be able to tell you what you need to pass the smog. if they say you just can't get a JDM they should be able to get you that USDM your looking for. and they might be cheaper than online.
JDM motors are 100% smoggable. B16 in an obd1 car is probably the easiest hybrid to ref next to a B18A/C. One of the major things you're going to need is a USDM P30 ecu and to make sure that all of the sensors are properly working. You're a shoe in once you get your hybrid to the point where you'll pass the visual and functional test, the sniffer test will be easily passed given you've done everything correctly.
