i gotta 2000 civic and the idle's sittin realllll freakin low... like 100-200... how do i adjust my idle? any advice would be helpful. thanks

 

is the car shaking, if not leave it alone, mine is like 200-300

There is a little screw on the throttle body, right above where your intake system hooks up to the manifold. Adjust it a little bit. From what the Honda dealership says, Civics should be set at 600-700rpms when idle. This is with the A/C on, ofcourse. Adjust the screw just a lil bit at a time, with the car on. That should work, or it could be a problem with the Idle Control Valve.

 

uhh, check ur ignition timing too, make sure its correctly set, try taking the IAC off and carefully clean the mesh like screen with a cotton ball and some carbon cleaner stuff like spray carbon cleaner on cotton ball then whipe on the mesh dont spray the cleaner in the iac... then as GranDeos said theres a little screw on the TB and yes adjust it a little dont do alot or the car will start to preignite due to the car cant compensate adding fuel as it is after the MAP sensor... and turn it CCW. but before messing the the idle adjust screw make sure ur timing is correct and the IAC is clean...

i have the same idle problem. where is the IAC and how can i clean it. where the intake manifold connects to the intake there is a black box instead of a silver sort of intake pipe which VTEC civics have.

 

i have the sam prob;em, where is the IAC and how can i clean it. my car has a black box which connects to the intake manifold. it has the air filter pipe comming out of it. sum vtecs have a crome pipe instead thanks.
