Default Suggestions for new engine replacement...

I have recently bought a 94 del sol s from a friend of mine, today I found out that I am burning oil, I used some stop leak for the time being. The car has 151000 miles on it and I was told that I should just buy a used engine from a junk yard or private dealer since I am short on cash....if anyone has any suggestions on engine type or other solutions please proceed.

i guess you failed to realize that the guy is short on cash. Yes its nice, but lets be practical here. Drop in a D16z6 or D15b jdm motor(equivalent to z6) and call it a day. If you do have more money than im thinking, then go for a b16. good luck

Well, he was talking about getting a engine from a junk yard. If he could find a GSR motor that would be very nice in that car. Thats all I ment.

Exactly. You can get a D15B for $435 + shipping from www.hmotorsonline.com (http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30019) and slap it in there with your current tranny/axles/mounts and just get a P28 ECU and wire up the VTEC. Very simple swap.

Or try to figure out why you're burning oil and try to solve that problem. It might end up being cheaper than a new engine.

Werd! How much oil is it burning? If you keep it full by keeping an eye on it you'll probably still be able to drive it for a long time. Save for a B-series swap during that time.
