Just throw a B16 into it, H22 is to much work and plus the motor and the mounts cost a arm and a leg.

It all depends dude. H22 has its good and bads.
its a torque monster and has crazy Hp. just stock and yull be a pretty quick. its just its a bitch to get it in. if you no what your doing it should take a weekend.
and its pretty havie it ways prolly 185 pounds heavier then your stock D. and you will have some over steer.

b16 is its common and its a easy swap. and redlines alot higher then the H. but no torque at all. but you could make them really fast if you wanted to.

Or do LS or LS/Vtec. its all up to you and time and moneyl.

ls/vtec is a mix of two motors that has good and bad sides to it. it is called an ls vtec because it has an ls bottom end from a ls gs or rs integra motor code b18b/a and a vtec head from a b16 or a b18c type r , gsr, and such. The good side to it is it gets more torque/hp than the normal set up but the bad side is some people think its not as reliable. If its done right then your good to go though.

what is the right way. i was reading up on it.. it says that it very unreiable. cylender walls and pistons and conn. rods break. but other then that i should throw a b16 in the civic and ill be happy?
and what mods will be good with the b16 what sees the most gains. for an all-motor setup what are good cams. and are cam gears worth it.. and what kinda gas u put in a b16

The connecting rods break because the idiots assumed that the bottom end could handle the redline of the VTEC head that was placed on it. It isn't any less reliable than any other motor, assuming it has been properly reinforced if you plan on taking it past the stock LS redline. This includes, but is not limited to, stronger rod bolts, balanced rotating assembly, and a main girdle.

Personally, I wouldn't do anything to a B16 except some sort of forced induction. And you have to run premium gasoline in it.
