Default can a worn clutch affect starting...

when i try to start the car all the lights turn on but the engine does not crank.. so i press the clutch pedal twice then the car starts up...i know my clutch is worn and it needs to be replaced... idk... sometimes the car starts up no problem and somestimes i have to play with the ignition... weird...

no..i usually start it at neutral..

The mechanics of the clutch then would not effect the starting of the car. If it doesn't even try to start and you are quite sure that it has something to do with you pressing the clutch pedal then I'd look into the wiring/sensor at your clutch pedal as there is a switch there that sees that the clutch is pressed in before it will allow the engine to start. Something to consider.
