Are the knock sensors off a B series engine able to be used on a Y8? I shattered mine while doing some work. I guess the question is two fold, will it bolt right in (I assume this is a yes) and will it utilize the same connection type and function with the ECU? I've seen the blue tipped ones like mine, green, and black. I assume this is for different generations, though will any or all of them work?

 

I was under the impression that only some of the B-series came with knock sensors. I beleive youre talking about the D16Y8... I dont think they came with knock sensors

 

That is correct, the B series with Vtec come with knock sensors, and yes Y8 was in reference to the D16Y8. I can tell you for a fact that the Y8 does have a knock sensor, I broke it and looked up what component I had broken. The CEL 23 is also a pretty good sign too LOL.

I wanted to know if a B series knock sensor would plug right up onto the D16, both wiring harness wise as well as threading into the block. Most B and D parts don't swap over well, but I have a hunch that one might, and if it does, it will be easier for me to locate one cheap. Anyone know? Also does anyone have a Y8 knock sensor for sale?
