Default header problem

for anyone that has instaled headers, what is the best way to remove the stock set, because the bolts wont budge. jstu was wondering if some1 had a trick or 2.... write back if you got somethign for me...

heating them up worked for me. do NOT break a stud. you could also try penetrating oil but dont do it when the engine is hot. you could start a fire.

but u cant jsut use an ordernary tourch can u?

either drive the car around or use a regular propane torch. i did both.

oh really jsut driving it aroudn and letting it get hot cuz of teh exhaust gas makes it easier??

yep, wear some gloves tho when taking the old manifold off cause its cast iron and retains heat like a m'er f'er.

well, i let mine cool down, sprayed some PB blaster on it. let it sit a while and they came right off. And make sure if you do spray anything on them, clean it up real good once you got them off.
