Default Reason for my high vtec rpms?

Ok, well. I recently got my vtec working. I just randomly decided to hit 6k rpm one day and it kicked in. So, it kicks in at I'd say 5,700rpm in every gear. I'm still throwing code 21, probably a bad ecu because the car runs healthy and the vtec runs healthy. As I understood, a b16 with a p30 should kick in at 5,400ish. So why does mine kick in 300 rpm later? Any ideas?

its hard to say but my vtec is supposed to kickin at 5500 and sometimes it seems to vary a lil bit, the way to know for sure when its kicking in is do the vtec light mod that way a light will come on when it hits vtec then you will know for sure

Code 21 is your VTEC solenoid valve. I would check into your wiring and the condition of the valve itself(take it off, see if there's any debris clogging the screen). This may be behind your condition. Good luck.

Yea, I knew the 21 code was the valve, so I figured it was my wiring. So I redid it and it's short proof. I think It wasn't kicking in because of a poor wiring job. I'm going to take the valve apart probably wednesday because I get out at noon.
