yep, turning in general places strain on a cv. but if car is in gear and decelerating or accelerating there is more stress.

Thanks for clearin that up for me shmoo, I'm rather lazy. so I guess a 10 minute axle pull and replace would be better, not to mention these are the (I think) original axles that came with my b16a. I'll have to silicone it for a week or two though. I might just get an axle from a junk yard until then. I see two new axles are 129$ Which ain't bad really.

I bought mine off ebay. The brand new one was half as cheap as the remanufactured one I was replacing because the CV joint blew out. Which side of the car is it on? It would probably be a good idea to replace both sides.

Hey listen kid these guys are right but the thing is you should prolly be making the car worth your while before dressing it up with rims and shit. See you dont want to be one of those guys that puts the cart before the horse! Learned from exp. Yeh you are just better off replacing both front axles to be sure they are gonna last also when you order them they make new boots now out of polyurathane, reduced chance of ripping them. Money worth spent, deffinatly if you just got the rims!

Define "kid". I have made my car worth while by swaping a new engine after my 1.5 shit the bed. Seeing as how you just joined, I don't really expect you to know my experience with my car. I inspected the boot, the cut is about | | long, I tested it and there was no clanking noises or grease comming out. So I put silicone over the cut and drove the car and there was no further leaking. Also note my post above about buying new axles in a week or two. The grease could have been from my previous axles, who knows? All I know is it will be fine untill I get my new axles. Also, again with the new join date, you probably haven't had a chance to see the money I just put into my car. I'm trying to have fun, but also support my means of living........The axles can wait a few weeks.

Yeah, you can wait since the cut isn't bad, but when you do get a chance, replacing both axles is the best idea.

If I replaced my axles would I need to get an alignment? Because I just got one when I did my swap, I'm getting one when I put my tires on, It would suck to need another. And I'd like to get the new tires on as soon as they come in, my current ones are rather "weathered".
