Default Suspension AAAAH

Hey all,

The virtual scream was to get your attention, =-P

If this has already been asked before, please forgive me. I remember when they made the 96-2000 Honda Civic they put that great suspension in the car. I think it was the multilink and double wishbone suspension? Is that right? Anyway, I heard that they completely screwed the suspension in 2001 when they redesigned the body. Is this true? What I mean is, did they steer away from the more expensive suspension and go with something a little less expensive? Are the 2002-2005 Civic the same way or did they learn the error of their mistakes? I have just heard rumors about the suspension and may be totally wrong here. Let me know becuase I was thinking about buying a 2001 Civic EX 2 door 5 speed. Thanks. Yes, yes I know that I change my mind about cars. I just want to make sure I get the most for my money. =-)

The 01+ civics and rsx's have macpherson front suspension and the wishbone suspension in the rear. Its not bad its just harder to get the right settings when modifying.

I see. That makes sense. Why did I hear about the 01 Civic then? I could have sworn I heard something bad about their suspensions, (which was different from the 2000 and older).

I notice that the back end bobs up and down on bumps more so then other models. Haven't you noticed that?

I don't actually own the 01 civic. I was only considering buying one. If it has an a$$ of a suspension then I won't look at them twice. Apparently the 01-05 civic and RSX all have the same front and rear suspension. Who knew?

What do you guys think about that Gold color Civic that came out in 01. Would I get tired of that color? I noticed one for sale near where I live that has that gold color. It could look good slammed with some nice lightweight 16's

The Civic SI hatchback (at least in canada) is now made in the U.K. and not in canada anymore . I believe this still has the double wishbone suspension.

Hey maybe someone can dream up a mod to change from MacPherson strut to double wishbone. BTW, MacPherson strut was designed way back in the 30's/40's i read somewhere.
