Improve my Civic's performance?
Ok, I just purchased a 98 Civic 2dr Coupe, Great Condition 70,000 miles on it! But its frigging slow,no low end torque. 1.6 no Vtech
What can I really do to improve performance. I was going to buy an intake but is that really going to make a noticeable diffrence. Tell it to me straight. If I upgrade with a bunch of mods is it really worth it ? What is going to give me more HP? -Agent C4 http://p3rsiusmedia.com/civic/3.jpg |
swap. your only hope for power. a bunch of bolt on's will add more sound than performance.
it's VTEC :a: |
header, intake, cat back, cam shaft, pulleys, clutches, ecu chip.. etc. lot's of things. but get a new motor..
and best of all.. get a new car.. |
its Vtec! Not Vtech :slap: everyone always says that!
anyways turbo the bitch! |
If you want more low end torque, you want a different car or at least a different engine.

drop the car with some eibach springs or teins. Then the car will handle great around the corner. I went all out with C/O but the ride is so stiff now...make sure you get a good street spring rate....otherwise you gonna bounce around like me. Performance-wise...man....get a new car. I just dropped in a GSR on my 93 hatch...and it's no where near my M3 territory. Too bad I came from a fast car so it didn't impress me at all.

yea a stock gsr in a hatch wont impress you compared to your M3 TRILLION DOLLAR SPORTS CAR. Throw a turbo on that motor and then see how your opinion will change. By spending like a 10th of what a M3 costs you could whip around in a over 500 whp civic.

Ok, well it looks like I'm going to have to deal with it until I get tired enough of this car to sell it and get something faster. What does a good Vtec engine cost ?
