Default ECU Code Help...

Ok checked the codes and it threw a 41 and a 4. Primary Oxygen sensor and the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Have no idea how to fix or even how they go bad in the first place? Any help and where I can look and if this is an easy fix hopefully. Any guidance would be appreciated. I have a 95 SI btw.

41 - Primary Oxygen Sensor - Heater
4 - CKP Sensor (Crankshaft Position Sensor)

either may be a bad wire or connection somewhere.
Are you working on a swap? or did this just happen out of the blue?
have you changed anything recently?

CrankShaft Position Sensor is in the distributor.

Well it was weird how it happened. I ran it all day with no light then I go to start it up again and it came on instantly. No swaps I just replaced the distributor like 3 weeks ago but im kinda wondering if having no dust cap inside the distributor has something to do with it. Not really sure. Is it bad to run with a bad o2 sensor?

CEL for bad O2 heater will put the ECU in "limp home mode" which richens the A/F and retards the timing. It's ok for a little while if you have to.
Dust shouldn't have that much to do with the code... but maybe. I've never run without one. Personally I'd be checking the connection to the distributor for the CKP code.
Did you replace the distributor with a new one? if it was used or rebuilt the sensor may have gone bad or even going bad when you put it in. If it was new it sounds like it's time for a warranty replacement.

Well I got an autozone lifetime warranty rebuilt distributor so I guess I will just take it back and tell them I need another one. So should I just go ahead and buy a new o2 sensor?

autozone uses rebuilt distributors. Yep I'd use the warranty.

the O2 heater... if you have a multi meter you can check the heater. With the key off, just make sure there is a low ohm reading (~100ohms or less)between the terminals of the O2 sensor. (the two black wires) With everything cold of course.
If you don't want to crawl around under the hood/car, check A6 (orn/blk) and A25 (yel/blk) at the ECU for the same connections.
With the ignition off there will not be power on the wires, so don't worry about that.

That's the problem, at least for the crank position sensor. Exchange it.

If the car hasn't had the HO2S replaced yet, do it now.
