hey guys, this question isnt for a honda motor, but it is for general engine part, and you guys always answer so quickly....

my friend is replacing the valve springs on his MR2 motor, does anyone know how to remove the retainers, so you can change the valve springs?

you need to have a valve spring compressor.

 

well, alright then, didnt know that

 

when it compresses the spring, you can take the retainers out.

 

guess we'll have to get one of those then

 

does he have the head out of the car?

 

yea, the head is out, sitting on his floor

 

then it will be a lot easier.

 

o, alright, but the tool is still required ?

 

yea. it's pretty much like compressing a spring, to take the shock/stut out.
