Default dip stick problem

I am new to hondas just got my first one last week. The other night I went to check the oil and after I had wiped it off and stuck it back in the tube to check it. I noticed that it would not go all the way back in. There is 2 rubber o-rings on the dip stick and it only goes to the first one. Is this all the way in or does it need to go past the second o-ring.

It is a 99 civic ex.

the oil level should be between the two dots on the dip stick. over the first dot ur ok, over the second, u got too much, under the first dot, ur low.

Yeah I am just asking about if it is deep enough. I push really hard where I feel I am going to break the dip stick but it still does not go in. iT just stops at the first o-ring/

wierd... it shoudl go all the way down. the only thing that would stop it is the oil pan, but even then the dipstick would just bend. is this ur stock dipstick?

did you put your back into it? dont worry youre not going to hurt it. just push a little harder. if the previous owner didnt check their oil at all or if the car is brand spankin new then its just not worn in.

Try taking it out, turn it a little, and put it back in. I know it sounds weird, but on my gf's 00Ex it will only go 1 certain way.
