Default Del Sol Performance Questions

Im looking for info on making a D16z6 run a bit better and stronger for the time being, but for a decent price. Im looking mostly for ideas on performance upgrades to the engine that is and ideas on what i should do or how to do so. Nothing to big ya know, being that i plan on buying a b18 series engine soon but want the car to be decent while im building up the engine before i drop it in(ie new cam, gears, pistons, etc.).

Let me know what you think would be good to do, for a decent price.

Boost it. You'll get more hp for the $ than going with the B18, unless you found a really good deal. Besides, if you blow up a d-series, they are cheap. If you must do minor hop-ups on your d, just stick with intake/headers/exhaust and maybe a test pipe. You can pick them up used quite cheap, and it will make a little difference.

Test pipe? I have a Z6, and I would say what Shifty35 said, but what the hell is a test pipe?

a testpipe is a pipe that completely replaces your cat converter with just a straight pipe, it helps exhaust breath out better.

It also makes cars quite abit louder.

Thats the thing though. Id rather not make it too lound, would rather have a deep tone to it then loud. How about a high flow cat?

Well im planning on keeping the D16 in the end. What im wanting to to is build up for the time being while i buy and build up the b18. then when its time im going to drop in the b18 and tune from there. But while im doing that im going to be rebuilding the d16 at more performance specs then stock. and keep it as a spare for easy swapping if need to do work on one or another. but then again i do have access to have fun with the d16. I have an uncle that has a body shop. well lets say i have an 1984 honda accord that id love to just mess around on and drop the engine into. Just for fun ya know. Alter the car. the works. but make the body look near stock. then freak the hell out of people. dont know if its reality but wil mods it can be done i would hope
